Whiz Legasis

In its passion to spread the culture of compliance across businesses, Legasis is equally mindful of providing its legal support services gratis to the needy.

In keeping with its philosophy of ‘Fusion of IT with Lawyering’, conceptualized as early as 2006, during this year’s Compliance 10/10 award Ceremony, Legasis is set to launch yet another unique Portal: ‘Whiz Legasis’ - to provide free legal support services to serving Defense Personnel as well as Sports Persons who have represented India.

Often it has been seen that our brave soldiers and officers of the armed forces face legal problems back at home. Their annual leave is not enough to sort out these disputes as the cases drag on and on. ‘Whiz Legasis’ is the humble effort of Legasis, as part of its corporate citizen duty, to offer succor to the serving armed forces personnel to resolve some of these vexatious issues. This simple gesture is our tribute to our brave armed forces personnel.

In keeping with its dedication to the cause of sports and our national heroes, who have represented India, Legasis is set to roll out through the same Portal, ‘Whiz Legasis, legal support service to sports heroes as well. Many of our sports champions often get embroiled in some legal matter or the other. We are proud to announce that Legasis is with them to sort out some of their legal problems through this Portal-based platform.

Hero's Speak

I am Dilip Parulkar, a retired Air Force Personnel and a POW, purchased a piece of land in Village Sus, District Pune in the year 1989 by a registered deed of sale. Subsequently, I came to know that pursuant to a loan given by the Bank of Karad and the seller of the said piece of land stood as guarantor. Upon failure of the borrower to pay back the said loan, the Bank filed a suit for recovery of the said loan together with interest thereon. In the said suit, the Bank filed an application for attachment of the said piece of land and pursuant to the said application, the Court directed attachment of the said land, behind my back.

After knowing the fact I appeared in the said suit as third party and filed application sometime in 1992 claiming ownership of my land and praying for setting aside the said attachment order.

Meanwhile, the said Bank went into liquidation and the Hon’ble Bombay High Court appointed liquidator and based on the report filed by the Liquidator, the Bombay High Court directed the District Judge Pune to transfer the suit filed by said Bank to High Court for disposal. Subsequently, the said liquidator, seller of the said land and some local persons, in an attempt to grab my said land, got an affidavit executed by the seller of my said land stating on oath that the said lands belonged to him thereby suppressing the fact that he had already sold the land to me for valuable consideration, and agreed to sell my land to such local persons for a paltry sum of few lakhs of rupees. Then the Liquidator submitted a report along with the said affidavit before the Bombay High Court for approval of the sale of my said land. The Liquidator also issued sale certificate and executed sale deed in favour of some local persons.

The case appeared to be too complicated for me to comprehend what is the status of my land and what course of action is open to me against such wrongful acts. At this juncture, I was introduced to Legasis, and its lawyers put their best efforts to go deep into the history of the matter, obtained copies of all the relevant papers from Courts, studied them and not only advised me on the course of action to be taken by me but also drafted and finalised the said complaint. I have already filed the said criminal complaint against the miscreants under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and on the basis thereof, a FIR has been lodged at the concerned police station and the police has already started investigation into the matter.
